VOICE or Volunteer Organizing In Construction Empowerment is a training designed for members of the Laborers’ International Union of North America to discuss the state of organized labor in this country and the important need to organize new workers into our union.
The class was created in the late 1990s and is modeled after similar trainings that other Building Trades construction unions use to tell their members about the serious issues that all unions are facing. The training has been updated to include recent figures and statistics facing the construction industry and LIUNA. Since its creation, hundreds of VOICE classes have been taught throughout our union, and thousands of LIUNA members have stood up to take the training and become a more active member of their union. Learn the basic fundamentals of organizing non-union companies. Our future work depends on it. It’s everyone’s responsibility to organize and ensure that our union continues to grow. You will learn more about the history, rise, and decline of unions and about what you can do to help your Local 607! Training session dates to be confirmed. Each session will take approximately 1 day (5-6 hours). REGISTER ONLINE NOW or call us at 807-622-0607. |
