TRAINING PROGRAMSLiUNA members have access to the best continuing education programs in the province and it's free. Local 607, through the North Star Training Centre, is a recognized Training Delivery Agent (TDA) for the Construction Craft Worker (CCW) Apprenticeship through the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Training helps employers compete with higher productivity and quality, and helps workers earn more, learn more, and work in a safe manner. This program is funded in part by the Government of Ontario.

Working at Heights training completed between February 28, 2017 and August 31, 2017 is valid for four years from the date of successful completion of the training program. This is a one-year extension for existing certifications.
The amended regulation has been filed and has now taken effect.

GHS stands for the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. GHS defines and classifies the hazards of chemical products, and communicates health and safety information on labels and safety data sheets). The goal is that the same set of rules for classifying hazards, and the same format and content for labels and safety data sheets (SDS) will be adopted and used around the world. An international team of hazard communication experts developed GHS.
