Strong communities create opportunities for young people to learn, participate and discover what they are capable of.
Through sport, recreation and music, young people can develop confidence, build friendships and find a sense of belonging. LiUNA Local 607 is proud to support local organizations and programs that make these experiences more accessible to children and youth across Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario.
Supporting Soccer in Thunder Bay
For the 2026 season, LiUNA Local 607 contributed $5,000 to the Thunder Bay Chill.
The club provides recreational and competitive soccer programming, camps and player-development opportunities for young athletes throughout the community. Its programs give players of different ages and abilities the chance to develop their skills, stay active and experience the benefits of being part of a team.
LiUNA Local 607 is proud to help the Thunder Bay Chill continue providing welcoming and enjoyable soccer opportunities for local youth.

Helping Young Bowlers Build Their Skills
Local 607 is also a sponsor of the Youth 10 Pin League Program at Mario’s Bowl.
The Sunday morning league provides young bowlers with an organized and supportive environment where they can practise their skills, enjoy friendly competition and become part of Thunder Bay’s bowling community.
Programs like the Youth 10 Pin League give young people an opportunity to participate in a recreational activity while developing focus, confidence and sportsmanship.
Removing Barriers to Music
Opportunities For Young People Extend Beyond Sports
LiUNA Local 607 donated $1,500 to Guitars for Kids Thunder Bay, an organization working to remove barriers to music participation for underprivileged, marginalized and at-risk youth.
Through donated and refurbished instruments, funded lessons and musical-expression programs, Guitars for Kids helps young people experience the creativity, confidence and connection that can come from learning to play music.
For some participants, receiving an instrument or access to lessons can be the first step toward discovering a lifelong passion.

Building Confidence and Connection
Whether a young person is stepping onto the soccer field, joining a bowling league or picking up a guitar for the first time, access to supportive programs can make a lasting difference.
LiUNA Local 607 is proud to support the organizations creating positive experiences for young people in Thunder Bay. By helping remove barriers to participation, these programs are building skills, confidence and stronger connections throughout the community.
